Got to spend a little time with the chef finding out about his culinary taste and style of cooking. One of his goals he states is "to make sure that when they come in hungry - they go home happy." Thus the fairly generous portion of servings for most of the food on the menu - check out the photo gallery. If you're looking for a bargain like me, invite your friend and share a full course meal for the price of one. This way you get to taste more variety of dishes including dessert - but get your own coffee, that's where I draw the line ;-) Getting a little restless and needing to move around, I crossed my fingers and asked if he could show me some cooking action in the kitchen. Thank goodness for his energy. Below chef joel is showing how he grills and prepares a filet mignon dish! ![]() see our empty plate - that filet mignon was ono. Mmmmmmmm! The filet mignon was sooo tender and moist, the homemade mashed potato was out of this world. The vegetables were vibrant and had a nice sweet crunch to them, and yes, the sweet fried onion was definitely a topper! Even with the help of my husband, this entree with all the works filled me up. Great Location! 05/07/2011
Driving through Lihu'e with views of lush tropical greens and the quiet sound of birds chirping in the air (that's right - no honking noise, or noisy traffic) you realize what a great place this is to escape city life. At Tiano's, many locals especially from Honolulu (Island of Oahu) said they would vacation here just to relax for a while. After checking the surroundings a little more, I realized owner's Joel and Mira found a great location for Tiano's Restaurant. Not only is Lihue the government and commercial center of the Kauai, it is the gateway for the many adventure seeking tourists visiting the garden isles. Close proximity to the restaurant is Lihue Airport and Nawiliwili Harbor where the island's major commercial shipping center and cruise ship ports. Many top rated hotels line the beach coasts and tourists don't have to travel far to visit the cultural and historical sites. Tiano's Restaurant is the perfect place to rest your weary feet, satisfy your hunger and enjoy a refreshing drink after a long day of golf, or sightseeing. Thanks for the great Food Tiano's!
